Catering Help Required
We are looking for people to help with large catering events (60-100 people), for example church lunches and brunches. If you would be interested in serving Platt in this way, please contact Jo (Jo[at]plattchurch.org) in the office. We will be able to provide any training needed.
Compass Group Hike - Sat 13th OctSaturday 13th October, Compass group meet at Platt at 9.30am for moderate hike from Edale in the Peak District. This is an 8-mile walk, with 1,700 ft. (518m.) of ascent. From Edale we walk up to The Nab, then up Golden Clough, around Ringing Roger and along the top to Crookstone Out Moor. From there it’s down to Hope Cross and then returning along the valley, passing the YHA hostel, back into Edale.Please bring waterproof jacket, footwear for muddy tracks and a packed lunch.

Faith in Business Conference- Sat 13th Oct
There will be a Faith in Business Conference taking place on on Oct 13th 9.30am - 4pm at Bradford Cathedral.
The Faith in Business conference for the North of England asks what the commands of Jesus - to love God and neighbour - mean in competitive business. John Kirkby (founder of Christians Against Poverty and reformed business owner) will be one of the 4 speakers.
After hearing the talks, there will be time to question, reflect, and discuss. There will also be opportunities to browse stalls and to network over a good lunch and refreshments.

Friends International Conference- Sat 10th Nov
The Unchanging Gospel in a Changing World
Friends International are holding a training conference to help churches and volunteers in the North West to be more effective in reaching international students with the gospel.
How can Christians respond to the challenges of international student ministry in a changing world? After reminding us of the eternal truths of the gospel, experienced Friends International staff will guide us through some of these challenges and suggest some possible new approaches. There will also be workshops on changing identities, changing communications and changing attitudes.
Peter and Lynette Teagle who are based in Oxford. Peter is the Friends International conference and mission speaker whilst Lynette is Head of Learning and Development.
Ann-Marie Yow is based in Preston, is an FI Affiliate and leads the international ministry team at All Saints Church.
Other Friends International staff and affiliates from the North West will also be available together with resources. Another great benefit of these conferences is the opportunities for attendees to share best practices and encouragements with each other. The ticket includes a delicious cooked lunch. There is ample parking on Platt Lane and frequent buses from Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations (41.42.43).
