  • Mark leaving us to join St Mary’s Haughton Green

We have had the recent good news that Mark Glew is going to be taking up the role of vicar of St Mary’s Haughton Green in Denton. We’re sad at the Glews' leaving but excited with them for the future.

Mark’s licensing will be Sun 30th April, 3pm, at St Mary’s.

  • Robinsons with us

The Robinson family, one of our Mission Partners, are back with us for the summer. They’ll be at Platt at various points over the spring and summer including May 21st when we’ll interview them in the morning and Paul will preach in the evening. And on July 23rd when we’ll re-commission them before their return. Pray for their time in the UK visiting supporting churches, for work they need to do while here and for rest and refreshment.

  • Oasis- Tues 2nd May

A reminder to those who will be attending Oasis on Tuesday 2nd May, to please bring choices of music with you.

For the Spring Fair (Sat May 13th, 12-3pm), we need your help with:

    1. Gazebos! If you have a gazebo and wouldn’t mind it being used to weather-proof our Church Fair, please contact Dave Fraser (davidfraser06[at]gmail.com)

    2. Plant/garden stall. We are looking for someone greenfingered, or a group to organise/create a plant/garden stall for the fair. If this is something you would be interested in please contact Meg Fraser (meganfraser06[at]gmail.com)

    3. Calling all bakers! There will be a homemade cake stall at the Fair and we need people to bake cakes for it! There will also be a "Great Platt Bake-Off with real judges and prizes! To sign up for getting involved please use this online sign-up form

    4. Pre-loved items: books, household items, toys, unused toiletries, (please not clothes). Please leave them to the large blue bin in the new glass lobby. Contact Linda Bonner or Caroline Mathole for more information

  • Holiday at Home

This year for Holiday at Home, we’re heading off to ‘New Orleans’ for a carnival atmosphere and we’d love you to join us for ‘Mardi Gras’.  Holiday at Home is an opportunity for our senior members (Oasis) and our wider community to get a break over the summer without leaving Manchester.  The summer can feel really long as many of their regular clubs/meetings take a pause for the summer – Holiday at Home provide three days of fellowship, fun and food.

BUT…it needs a group of helpers to make it happen.

Can you bake some cakes, offer transport to or from church, support in the kitchen, play dominoes, spend time talking with people, provide some music or craft activities – if so, we’d love for you to share and serve in  all (or part) of our Holiday? If so, pick up a helper form from the back of church and return it by 14th May.

If there is something else you think you could help with or want some more information please email: holidayathome[at]plattchurch.org  or speak to Linda Bonner/William Carey
