Exactly as it sounds: a holiday, but at home!
When it happens:
The first week of August.
Where it happens:
The church hall, lounge & garden room.
Holiday at Home runs for 3 days once per year, giving a holiday to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity for one. Each year the holiday is based around a theme, and features activities associated with that theme. Past examples have been crafts, croquet, curling & themed food among others.
Information about Holiday at Home is advertised in the church notice sheet during the months approaching the event, when application forms will also be available.
Join us for our New Orleans Carnival/Mardi Gras: 1st – 3rd August
The ‘Holiday at Home’ team is excited to share our plans for its ‘return’ after our change to ‘British Summer Treats’ during the building works. We’re heading off to ‘New Orleans’ for a carnival atmosphere and we’d love you to join us for ‘Mardi Gras’. Holiday at Home is an opportunity for our senior members (Oasis) and our wider community to get a break over the summer without leaving Manchester. The summer can feel really long as many of their regular clubs/meetings take a pause for the summer – Holiday at Home provide three days of fellowship, fun and food. BUT…it needs a group of helpers to make it happen.
Can you bake some cakes, offer transport to or from church, support in the kitchen, play dominoes, spend time talking with people, provide some music or craft activities – if so, we’d love for you to share and serve in all (or part) of our Holiday? If so, pick up a helper form from the back of church or fill in our online form: https://goo.gl/O9NS8b
Maybe there is something else you think you could help with or want some more information – if you’ve got something to say or ask, Email holiday at home or speak to Linda Bonner/William Carey
